De Zwiepers is installation exploring bullroarers.
“The bullroarer, is an ancient ritual musical instrument and a device historically used for communicating over great distances.[2] It consists of a piece of wood attached to a string, which when swung in a large circle produces a roaring vibration sound.”
The installation consists of two 10 meter high poles flinging with elektromotors mounted in the top, the motor’s fling around bullroarers attached on 8 meter long strings. Creating an spatial and dynamic audio experience.
